DEFINITE-CCRI Final Event takes place in Ghent

 

On Thursday 9 April, the DEFINITE-CCRI Final Event took place in the Sint Pietersabdij, a stunning location in the heart of the Belgian city of Ghent. 

Filled with expert panels and discussions, the event gathered participants from the European policy sphere as well as start-ups/incubators and investors who are engaged in developing or financing circular solutions or are setting the relevant framework conditions at European level. Presented in a talk show format, the event welcomed participants to take part both in person and online. 

The event commenced with the session "How to Develop a Bankable Circular Economy Project?", which included the presentation of a series of educational videos offering practical insights into project development; and the Circularity Tool, designed to bridge the gap between circular economy projects and potential investors. The session was followed by a technical panel on the topic & insights from three DEFINITE-CCRI PDA projects: the Circular Library NetworkTissel & Return2sender.

Key policy recommendations at the European level were also unveiled, aiming to enhance Project Development Assistance (PDA) frameworks. This was followed by a policy panel that dwelt into these recommendaitons, together with a discussion on the future of PDA through potential spin-off initiatives, emphasizing the need for sustained support mechanisms for circular economy projects. 

Attendeed also enjoyed a networking coctail reception in the evening.
