Ghent, Belgium

The project aims to introduce a reusable pallet wrap made from repurposed single-use big bags. This innovative solution addresses two waste streams, transforming them into a valuable resource while creating job opportunities in social workshops.

Focus sectors
What do we want to achieve?

Objectives:

  • It aims to drive economic growth through sustainable industries, offering decent work

  • Decarbonisation, reuse, remanufacture and repurposing of materials and more

With the EU Green Deal phasing out single-use pallet wrap foil, Rewrap is poised to thrive in this emerging market.

Development stage: the first prototypes are made and the first performance test simulating the heavy load of a truck stop has been proven successful. The team is about to start the venture to bring the product to the market, aiming to produce >5000 pcs/year through automated processes.

Circular strategy 6: Remanufacture

Use parts of discarded product in a new product with the same function.

Make a product redundant by abandoning its function or by offering the same function with a radically different product.
